Thomas O'Donovan was born in Eastern Pennsylvania in the spring of 1949. His formal education began in Allentown, Pennsylvania, at one of the first Montessori Schools in the country, and ended with graduate studies at Penn State University in the early '70's.
What was to become a career in metal-smithing and design began in 1968 with an apprenticeship with silversmith C. Leslie Smith, followed by a period of study at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
O'Donovan moved to Maine in 1981 to open his first studio and gallery in Camden. Today, O'Donovan lives and works in the Maine woods and provides the vision as artistic director of Harbor Square Gallery.
