In
the spring of 1983, Imero Gobbato walked into a new gallery
space in Camden, Maine and introduced himself. Since that
day twenty-five years have passed. Our gallery has found
its true home in Rockland, and the world has changed almost
beyond recognition. A new millennium has begun, bringing
with it a new lexicon of sorrows, endless war, terrorism,
and climate change. Daily hearts are broken, and daily mended.
We go on.
Central to the mission of this gallery since its inception
in 1981, is the belief that BEAUTY and the TRUTH enfolded
within it, are essential to the human spirit's ability to
withstand hardship, to heal and continue to evolve toward
wholeness, sanity and peace. The various works of Imero
Gobbato's prodigious creativity, and his most evident love
for this world we struggle to share, have formed the centerpiece
of our offering for all these many years. It is an alliance
we treasure.
Please join us as we celebrate the ongoing life and work
of this remarkable artist and his 25 years at Harbor Square
